![]() My dad Bob Collins was dredgemaster on the dredge when it was in kanieri.When the dredge was dismantled and moved he was sent to the greymouth office where he became manager.a position he held untill his death in 1967.I remember well the leather bag,in school holidays I was allowed to accompany him on smelt days to bring back the gold bars.As a child it was a really cool to see the liquid gold being poured into the molds.
